St. Mary’s Catholic Religious Education College (STPAK). Yohanes Peng Evangelist Ambon is the only Catholic religious education high school in Maluku Province. The STPAK campus building with three floors is located right on the shore of Ambon Bay at the address Jl. Pakatora Mango Tree Kole-kole Pante, RT. 001, RW.06 Poka Rumah Tiga, Rumah Tiga District, Ambon City Regency, Maluku Province. With natural panoramas, especially the beautiful charm of Ambon Bay, the campus environment is truly comfortable and beautiful.
A glance at the history of its formation, STPAK St. Yohanes the Evangelist Ambon was founded in October 2005, led by the Catechetical Commission of the Diocese of Amboina. With various preparation efforts, on May 5 2006 the Bishop of Amboina Diocese, Msgr. Petrus Canisius Mandagi, MSC gave a recommendation as a blessing for the establishment of STPAK St. John the Evangelist in Ambon. With this recommendation, the founding committee submitted an application for an operational permit to the Director General of Catholic Community Guidance in Jakarta.
On July 12 2006, the Director General of Catholic Community Guidance granted Operational Permit No: DJ.IV/HL/00.5/98/2006, with the Catholic Religious Education Study Program, Pastoral Catechetical Department. The process of accepting prospective new students for class I for the 2006/2007 academic year was carried out and on August 20 2006 the first lecture began. On September 22 2006 STPAK St. Yohanes the Evangelist of Ambon was inaugurated by the Director General of Catholic Community Guidance, Drs. Stef Agus.
In 2013 STPAK St. Yohanes the Evangelist of Ambon was accredited by BAN-PT based on Decree number: 017/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-XV/S/I/2013 dated 18 January 2013. On 20 February 2018 STPAK St. Yohanes the Evangelist of Ambon carried out reaccreditation which was then determined through BAN-PT Decree number 503/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/II/2018.
