Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Maluku Province, H. Jamaludin Bugis, S.Ag gave a public lecture at the Catholic Religious Education College (STPAK) St. Yohanes the Evangelist of Ambon, Monday 06 September 2021. Under the theme “The Role of Catholic Students in Facilitating Religious Modernization” the Regional Head of Kemenang Maluku Province expressed his thanks and highest appreciation to the Chairman of YPPKA RD. Agus Arbol and Chairman of STPAK RD. Andy Sainyakit, “My thanks and appreciation to the Chairman of the Foundation and the Chairman of STPAK for this extraordinary agenda. “Other campuses should follow the example of STPAK in their public lecture agenda with this extraordinary theme,” concluded the Head of Regional Office.
Apart from being attended by students, various parties were also present, such as the Catholic Education Foundation of the Diocese of Amboina (YPPKA), the leadership of STPAK, and all Community Counselors (Pembimas) within the scope of the Maluku Province Religious Regional Office, except for the Christian Pembinas who were attending the event at the same time. 86th Anniversary of the Maluku Protestant Church. Kakanwil, in introducing the Pembimas, emphasized that their (Pembimas) presence was a symbol of togetherness between religious communities in Maluku Province.
The public lecture lasted for two hours in the STPAK St. John the Evangelist of Ambon received a good response from various parties. “We are very pleased that Mr. Kakanwil, who is a Muslim, wants to come and give a public lecture on religious modernization to those of us who are Catholics. “I hope that this can be emulated and not only stop here (public lecture) but will continue to be sustainable by bridging interfaith university student meetings.” Said a student.
The public lecture was closed by RD. Andy Sainyakit as Chair of STPAK St. Yohanes the Evangelist of Ambon and then the Head of Regional Office, Pembimas, Chair & Secretary of YPPKA, Chair & leaders of STPAK, enjoyed a meal together in a family atmosphere.
